Budgie Miniatures
No.60 Squad Car
The final two models in the Budgie Miniatures collection were re-cycled from earlier issues. The first was a version of No.19 Rover 105 which was re-named as No.60 Squad Car, the second No.61 Q Car.
No.60 Squad Car body casting was identical to the earlier model but the base lettering was changed with the addition of 'Squad Car' and the revised 'No.60'.
Two colours were used, black at first and later bright red. Both had spray-applied silver trim on grille, headlights and front bumper. The base was painted silver and the wheels were black plastic.
No.60 Squad Car was manufactured in Modern Products foundry and issued in 1967. It was sold in blue Budgie blister-packs, and in Toy House packs in the US, and was also part of the triple blister-pack No.98b Utility Vehicle Set.
The Squad Car was withdrawn in 1970 but is not hard to find in good condition.
